The Council for Exceptional Children works to improve and influence public policy affecting children with exceptionalities, those with disabilities and/or gifts and talents, their parents, and the professionals who work with them, at all levels of government.

CHADD is the nation’s leading non-profit oranization serving individuals with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD). Through collaborative leadership, advocacy, research, education and support, CHADD provides science-based, evidence-based information about AD/HD to parents, educators, professionals, the media and the general public.

The Learning Disabilities Association of America provides support to people with learning disabilities, their parents, teachers and other professionals. At the national, state and local levels, LDA provides cutting edge information on learning disabilities, practical solutions, and a comprehensive network of resources.

NAMI (the National Alliance on Mental Illness) is the nation’s largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to improving the lives of persons living with serious mental illness and their families.

The Autism Society of America – the voice of the autism community. The ASA works to get autism information into the hands of those who need it most and promotes education, awareness, and advocacy on critical issues.

MAAP Services for Autism and Asperger Syndrome is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing information and advice to families of more advanced individuals with Autism, Asperger syndrome, and Pervasive developmental disorder (PDD).
